We show the live spot price of both metals in pounds sterling — per troy ounce and per gram — refreshed continuously throughout the trading day, alongside free calculators and a growing library of UK-focused guides.

The site exists for a simple reason. Most international price sites quote in US dollars, but the sterling price of gold depends on both the dollar spot price and the GBP/USD exchange rate. That means UK holders need a figure in pounds, with the conversion done for them — and they need tools calibrated to the items Britons actually own, from Sovereigns and Britannias to hallmarked scrap jewellery and pre-decimal coinage.
